Hi friends! I’m so excited for today’s post because I get to help announce Kirkland’s partnership with the famous Rae Dunn! I was so honored that I was able to partner with them on this exciting release, as I’m a huge fan of both Kirkland’s and Rae Dunn.
I’ve been collecting Rae Dunn pieces for a little over seven months now, and you could say I have a slight obsession. From mugs to canisters, bowls to ovals, and more, I just can’t help myself when I find the Rae Dunn pieces in stores. When I heard that Kirkland’s was launching a new home decor line with Rae Dunn, I was definitely excited. I knew the partnership between the two would include items only found at Kirkland’s, so I was eager to hear more!
Now for my readers who don’t know too much about Rae Dunn or her clay pottery, here is a short background on her and her infamous success in the home decor world. Rae Dunn has been crafting these pottery pieces since 1994 and you can find her collection in stores and boutiques of which vary. One thing that I recently learned is “her work is influenced by the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi, which translates into the beauty of things imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete.” Now the part that people rave over are those cute large letters and the imperfections of the pottery! The main style of mugs I have are the ones that have large words on them, and the mug is not completely round. My favorite part though would have to be the size of the mugs! Perfect for my morning cup of coffee.
I received some of the items that can be found at Kirkland’s in stores and online on August 17th, and I’m excited to show you them today! I was super stoked about these items, and very appreciative of Kirkland’s to have included me in this collaboration. So here they are folks! The white enamel canister set!
I’m completely in love with these canisters and so excited to continue using them with our home! I was just telling AJ that we needed something for our oatmeal to stay fresh in since we buy the big box from Costco, and this “Contain” canister will be perfect. The canisters have a nice seal around them also, so if you do keep dry food in them they can retain freshness. Here’s a close up of the seal inside:
Also if you see those little energy bites off to the side and in the treats container, they are homemade by me! I found a few simple recipes online, but this one was my favorite with the chocolate chips! Below are the five simple ingredients that I used, but you can change this up however you’d like or whatever fits those health needs. I made a double batch, which was totally worth it in the end. So here is what I used and roughly the measurements (I am a little bit of this, little bit of that kind of cooker!):
- Old fashioned oats (2 cups)
- Peanut butter (1 1/3 cup)
- Mini semi sweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
- Flax seed meal (3/4 – 1 cup)
- Honey (4 tablespoons)
These were so yummy that AJ and I could hardly put them down, but we had too! They include a lot of fiber so beware (lol). I filled up the treats canister and set them in the fridge to help keep them fresh.
Well I hope you all have enjoyed seeing some of the new Rae Dunn items that will be featured in stores and online at Kirkland’s! I’m happy to add these to my collection and can’t wait to see more of the items as they hit the stores. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to let me know!
