Happy Friday!
Today I am so excited because I am going to our local vintage show called Junkstock, and it’s pure goodness. There are so many vendors who come to the show, and they show off their creativity, custom builds, vintage finds, and more. To be honest, some things can get a tad pricey but being a custom builder I understand why. The show itself has a price for vendors to join, and being in the business world I can understand adding in the costs to the price. You can see the photos of it for yourself and maybe plan a trip to Nebraska for the Fall show! Visit their website here.
I took the day off to go to the show and I’m heading their with my dad. He now has Friday’s off from work, so it worked out perfect for a little father daughter time. I’m writing this post on Thursday night, and it’s supposed to snow Friday morning…so I guess we will see! I can’t believe we are getting snow in April, but Nebraska weather is one of a kind. Hopefully it’s nice because you can bring dogs to this show, and I know Abu would love it. Even if it snows, he still loves it. He’s part Papillon and part American Eskimo, so he’s doing good in the fur coat category.
I actually decided to move a lot around with our entry way table and decided to write about that for you guys today! In this picture above I made these decor beads myself! For a little DIY project, and you will find the materials listed below to make these!
I know I should have done a step by step of these little beads, but it was my first try and I had no idea how they would turn out. I’m going to make some more beads with different decor elements added into them, and I’ll be sure to put up a blog post on that DIY.
I really want to start bringing more DIY projects to my page, and I promise you guys that is happening as we are doing some more renovations to the house. From some DIY curtain rods to a bathroom renovation, I’m going to try and add in some videos from those items and showcase that to you all. It will be a challenge as I haven’t done much in the video side, but I’m excited to try something new!
You might have also noticed that this wreath has a tan tone to it. I really wanted to get the Signature Magnolia Wreath from Magnolia, but it’s just not in my budget to spend over $100 on a wreath, even if I’m crazy about it! So I went and purchased this wreath from Hobby Lobby (50% off), bought some burlap spray paint and gave it a whirl. I’m actually pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. It’s not as light as I wanted it to be, but I also didn’t want to spend a ton of time painting each leaf. This was a quick DIY and super easy! Just be sure to do it outside and not on a windy day.
The flowers were from an arrangement that I already had, and I bought them all from Michaels last year. I’m sure you can find similar options to these at any local craft store, but once again I stuck to the neutrals. I actually use these flowers for most of the year too and maybe add in/take out one bouquet at a time. I spotted the watering can at Target, and you guessed it folks, it’s a Hearth and Hand find! I saw it and instantly fell in love, which happens with just about every piece of theirs.
You can shop this using the image link right below. It’s such a beautiful, white watering can and I absolutely love it! It’s such a great pop next to these pretty flowers.
If you all didn’t see my Instagram post on this gorgeous plant to the left, then you certainly need to read about it now! I have teamed up with Bloomscape to showcase this plant to you all. They are an amazing company who is doing something I’ve never heard of, which is delivering you a plant that is ready to go! What I mean by ready to go is, this plant literally came in a box just as you see here. It was in perfect condition and even came with care instructions.
I’m doing something awesome with them, and the first three people to comment on this blog post (not on my Instagram, on my blog post here) will receive a $35 off coupon and free shipping for their site! You can go to their site to check out what they have here: Visit Bloomscape
Bloomscape only ships within the U.S., so the code will only be valid to readers who live in the U.S. It expires on 9/1/18. One coupon per customer and cannot be combined with other offers.
Also pictured in this photo is a pillow from my sweet friend Amanda. She is having 10% off her site this week and I highly recommend checking it out! I’ve gotten several of her pillows and tea towels and they are of high quality! I have had some friends reach out and say they are loving their purchases as well. You can shop some of the pillows I’ve gotten from Amanda below, and I highly recommend her Spring collection. It’s outstanding!
The last piece I want to touch on in this post are the signs. I found them at Hobby Lobby and they are just so beautifully written. They really remind me of AJ and our home, and I just had to have them. You all might think I’m the mastermind behind everything in this home, but it truly is AJ. He makes my dreams a reality and helps me take creativity to a whole new level. So thank you babe! I really appreciate everything you do for me, our home, and Abu.
Next up on the project list will be our front door. You can slightly see it here, but it’s quite an ugly one you guys. It has a tiny window and doesn’t allow for much natural light to come in. So we have decided to replace the door slab with a half window door and I couldn’t be more excited! Stay tuned for that renovation, because it will completely change things in this room with all the light it’ll bring in!
I hope you all have enjoyed this post, and don’t forget to comment to get a $35 off coupon plus free shipping for your very own Bloomscape plant. Only the first three comments will receive the code, so act fast!
As always, if you have any questions or stories to share, I would love to hear them!
i love your home. it always gives me ideas that i never would have thought of on my own! neutrals are so easily attainable and adaptable to any season or style that you can add things like you did here with the flowers and the watering can or the pop of green color from the wreath and plants. but how do you make it mesh so easily together when you find one piece at a time? that’s one of my struggles.
Hi Kaleigh! I’m so glad that you are able to get ideas from our home! Neutrals are always my go to. I can definitely understand having troubles with meshing things together. Sometimes I don’t always know yet when I buy something where I will place it, but if I truly love a piece I’ll make it work! The biggest thing is moving things around and trying it out. Try to start out with “3’s” of each. So in the corner, get three things to sit next to each other. Then build from there!
Will you please send me your private email to farmhouseflaredesigns@gmail.com so I can send you a coupon code for Bloomscape?? Thank you so much for reading along girl!
Your home is absolutely gorgeous! Makes me so excited to start transforming our own home…starting with shiplap and wood floors. I also have the watering can, I couldn’t pass it up when I saw it at target..basically my second home. That plant is absolutely beautiful, and I checked out the website and already have a couple picked out for my own place.
Hi Kandice!! Thank you so much for your sweet words and I’m glad that you can get excitement from our home renovations! It truly is such a great feeling once things are getting done. Shiplap is so much fun! We are actually adding it to two more rooms in our house and I can’t wait. And oh Target…such a wonderful and horrible place (for our wallets lol).
