Light Fixtures
You guys, we finally have a pretty dining light fixture! I cannot even express how excited I am about this. It might seem so silly but I never thought this is something we would add to this house because, well it’s a starter home! And when I say starter home…I’m meaning we are flipping this home while we live in it. Every change is a positive change yes, but they are all smart changes. We aren’t doing things up too nice, but we are more so staying in a range for the neighborhood we are in.
Now the pretty decor will of course move with us as we move into new homes, but sadly this light fixture will probably stay (and our pretty vanity AJ built). It’s sad but it’ll be a part of this home, and a piece I hope is a selling feature because it’s gorgeous!
Let me just say, expect the unexpected! We went to Costco this past weekend for groceries and we walked past this gorgeous light. We were completely shocked to see this, but mainly because the amazing price it had! No joke. You guys…this was only $99! I seriously just couldn’t believe it because everything else I saw even remotely similar to this light was double if not triple in price compared to this one.
I have always loved our kitchen wall collage because it was full of farmhouse type finds, but this space was always just missing something. We had one of the small bubble lights and it was enough for what we’ve needed. A new light fixture was just never in the budget. Sometimes pieces of a home just pop up when you least expect it though!
Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find this exact light fixture on Costco’s website, but the guy who handled this area said he sold out of his last two orders this store had. So act fast people! If you see this at your local Costco store I do not recommend waiting! It was so easy to get set up (for AJ at least) and had every piece we needed, with the exception of a ceiling hook. We had to swoop the light fixture over because where the light was originally located, it was not centered at all. When the previous owners added the addition of the kitchen onto the home, they didn’t move any of the lights or switches, so everything on this side of the kitchen is it its original place.
While searching through some of my favorite sites, I was able to find some Edison Bulk light fixtures that were similar. The prices are definitely higher, but like I said we found a steal of a deal at Costco! Since light fixtures can add up, I always recommend searching through sites like Wayfair or Overstock first for some budget friendly finds. They have high quality items and I have loved just about every piece I buy from them.

Curious to see how the light looks with everything together? It’s definitely a more completed look now and we both are so excited about how this turned out. It was hilarious because we bought this, brought it home, and AJ started working on it right away to get it up. After a quick paint job to the ceiling (it was gross under the old light) and a fast trip to Home Depot, the light was up!
I hope you all are in love with the new addition as much as we are! The big transformations are always fun, but some times an addition of one piece can be just as exciting. If you have found some amazing deals for Edison bulb light fixtures, please feel free to leave those in the comments!
