I’m back! To my dearest readers, thank you for your patience with me as I took a vacation away from the blogging world. I enjoyed a beautiful vacation with family in the Bahamas, and it was incredibly amazing. And that’s what I’m here today to talk to you all about! Get ready for photo overload in this post. Here are some of the first things you’ll see when you go to Exuma, Bahamas:
I was completely shocked by the color of the water in the Bahamas, and was just blown away by the beauty. The Bahamas really is a place to go and relax, and be out of the city. The island we went to is Exuma, or also known as Georgetown. Our first taxi driver we had was named Margaret, and she let us know that the population is around 7,000 people. Quite the small island, and it was so nice being somewhere that was calm and peaceful.
Our family decided to go to the Emerald Bay Sandals resort, and it was gorgeous from the start. As soon as you arrived the staff was greeting you with warm welcomes and Bahama Breeze drinks (to die for!). The food options are endless at this resort and it’s all very tasty. We walked around the resort and it was pure beauty.
I have to stop you all right here! If you have a moment, I really encourage you to view the blog post on your desktop. The size of the photos on a mobile device just does not do these photos justice. Heck, the photos don’t do the island justice! This place was every bit of a tropical paradise.
The weather would change throughout the day from cloudy to sunny, and then back to cloudy for the first few days. I was sad about the clouds until the true sun came out. Don’t get me wrong, I love the sunny days on the beach, but it can get a tad toasty getting scorched by the Bahamian sun. So the clouds were just a nice quick break from that. Thankfully it didn’t rain at all so I’m happy about that! It really was great weather for us, and I am so thankful.
Almost every morning we woke up and got room service. As soon as it arrived we sat outside on our balcony to enjoy the gorgeous views of the ocean. If you ever get to go to Sandals Emerald Bay, I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich for breakfast from room service. It was delicious and AJ and I quickly learned it was our favorite.
Now let’s get to some of the fun in the sun. We did the Swimming with the Pigs excursion, and it was absolutely incredible. Not only did we get to see some cute little and large piggies, but we also got to enjoy snorkeling, fed iguanas, saw some starfish, and walked along some of the prettiest beaches. This was my favorite excursion I have ever been on because we were able to combine so much within one trip. If any of ya’ll decide to go to Emerald Bay, I highly, highly recommend this excursion.
This vacation was absolutely amazing. I wouldn’t have changed anything, except the duration of our stay to be longer (and to be able to bring Abu!). From the very moment we arrived everything was outstanding and beautiful. I’ve never been to a resort that was this clean and gorgeous in every area. There was a lot to do for your adventurer, and a lot of places for you loungers. From the hammocks on the beach to the poolside chairs, beautiful.
For the avid golfer, this is your dream course! I didn’t golf while we were there, but all of the boys went and loved it. AJ and I did get to walk the course and it was just stunning! On the back 9 you were just completely surrounded by the ocean waters. You could see for miles and even see other small islands. The shots I took will definitely be put on a canvas or two for our home. All around the golf course there were huge mansions too…I couldn’t believe them when I saw them. My favorites are pictured below with the other photos I snapped along our walk.
As you can see, this is definitely a trip worth taking if you can make it work. The Bahamas can be a little more expensive than some other tropical vacations, but there are still budget friendly options on the islands. I did go through my travel agent who is a saint for dealing with our large family that went, and he made it so easy for us. Booking 10 people for a trip like this can be hard, but he managed! If you need any recommendations, please let me know!
I hope you’ve enjoyed a short tour of where we got to live for a week!I love tropical vacations and please feel free to share some of your favorite vacations spots you’ve been! It’s so exciting hearing where everyone has gone and what you’ve loved! We are always looking for more fun and exciting places to visit.
And the show goes on…more random photos from our trip.
