Wednesday is here! For me right now this means more wedding meetings. Not complaining at all, I am actually enjoying wedding planning right now. From the venue visits, to the tasting for our caterer, I’ve been enjoying every step of the way! We’ve sent off deposits for our venue, caterer, and photographer already, so I just have a few more major items to check off the list and then I can relax a bit.
In the meantime, I have been trying to squeeze in time for the home decor and blogging world! I’ve been trying to buy less and use more of what I have around the house. Often times we can change something up a bit to look brand new! Lately I have been on a greenery kick because it’s been so fresh and green outside. I’m very excited too because we will be having lots of greenery throughout our wedding. I’m a huge fan of eucalyptus and will be incorporating that a lot within the wedding. From the bouquets to table decor, and from the cake to the arch where we will get married. So much green! I just love it all.
I’ve also been incorporating it throughout the house with the greenery that I have laying around. I changed up the spare bedroom decor a bit, and more specifically added one new painting that I got from Hobby Lobby! Of which I’m obsessed with.
I found this beautiful painting while I was rather stuck in Hobby Lobby due to a ridiculous monsoon that was occurring outside. I went in for some stuffing for presents, and found myself walking around for an hour. The storm was ridiculous to say the least, but I found myself this beauty! I just loved it because it’s so different from anything I have, and it has pops of green everywhere.
I tend to find a lot of my signs from Hobby Lobby because it’s close and convenient. I try to find signs or paintings that are different and unique to what I already have. I think in a world full of farmhouse signs/paintings you really have to find the ones that stand out. This painting was certainly one of those! I’ve actually found the original painting from the artist who created this and have linked it on my LIKEtoKNOWit page with the original and copies! I’ve also included the painting here with some of my other favorites as well.
I always love styling this antique sewing machine also. If you haven’t been a reader for long, you might not know the history behind this gorgeous piece. It was my grandmother’s sewing machine from the early 1900’s and I love it! It’s so special to me to have something that she had for so long and was passed down to her. It’s something for me to remember her by, because she really was one amazing grandmother who I aspire to be like!
The drawers even still have all of her sewing materials in them, and I’ve found little hair clips from when we were younger. I’ve styled them by just adding in some lamb’s ears and more greenery. I usually just get most of my lamb’s ear stems from Hobby Lobby, but this eucalyptus is the Hearth and Hand stems (which are one of my faves!).
Well I can’t wait to show you guys more on the wedding plans, and even my bridesmaid gifts that I’ve been making! I’m going to do a little bridesmaid gifting post, but I’m going to wait until I’ve asked all of my lovely ladies. I can’t wait to see their reactions and I’m so excited to have them all as a part of our day. AJ and I are both so lucky to be with one another, but we are also very lucky for the amazing friends we have.
I would love to hear some of your wedding planning tips, and some of the things you wish you’d had at your wedding or would love to have at a future wedding! So please, comment or message me your ideas/memories!
