Happy Friday!! What a short, long week. It’s been a busy one and the weeks are only getting busier. But for very, very good reasons!
Moves are happening with the bathroom renovation! AJ and I have been planning to renovate our main floor bathroom for quite some time now, primarily because the shower is so outdated. When I first moved into our home with AJ, we did a huge renovation on our main floor including paint, flooring, trim, kitchen, and some simple things in the bathroom. AJ built a vanity (his first vanity), we laid the same flooring down that is on the rest of the main floor, and gave the bathroom some paint. We knew that eventually we would upgrade the bathroom, but at that time the focus was on the kitchen.
So two and a half years later, here we are. With having experience in one bathroom renovation already, we know some of the don’ts and can focus on doing things smart. For instance, we are saving some things from the main floor bathroom like the faucet, sink, and some hardware. A few of the items we have in there now will be going into my brother’s bathroom because it will match his hardware, and I bought a new mirror. Whoops! I saw theeee most beautiful mirror at Kirkland’s and I cannot wait to get it in there. I’ll keep that piece a surprise for now.
I’m going to be making some unique shelves for in here, and will have a little fun with it. A very familiar light fixture will be making a second appearance because we bought two at the same time (such an amazing deal when we bought them). I haven’t found the little things yet or for sure decided on the decor, but I’m leaving that decision for closer to the end.
AJ and I went to Menard’s last night and purchased the wood for the vanity, and as you could have guessed, AJ already started working on it. He is quite the workaholic, but I’m surely not going to stop him. He enjoys building things and making them better than the last. We’ve gotten a couple new tools that are going to help with this vanity, and we are super excited to see how things turn out.
We will be completing this renovation in stages this go around to help cut down on wasted time, and well, to keep our sanity. 🙂 I will be showing updates in stages, and a post on how the bathroom looked before I moved in to now, and then I’ll reveal the changes slowly. So here’s a look at what to expect:
- The bathroom when AJ bought the house to what it looks like today before we start gutting it.
- The gut job. Let’s all say a prayer that this part goes smoothly.
- The vanity and it’s intricate features that AJ designed.
- The tile floor and shiplap.
- The shower and the tile for this.
- The final reveal!
I hope you all are as excited as I am to see this final product, and we are also super excited to show it to you. Be sure to follow along on my Instagram @farmhouseflaredesigns because I will be snapping some video progress, including some photo updates and more. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little teaser, and feel free to let me know what you want to see more of this time for the bathroom renovation!
I’m in complete agreement with a lot of the information in the following paragraphs. You certainly are a special article writer have real profit put your own views directly into apparent phrases. Anyone will be able to understand why.
