Hey y’all! I have been challenging my own design style in our new home, and our rugs are one main things where I’ve been doing that. Today’s post is going to focus on the living room rugs, and how I layered them and why.
So, how do you decide on a rug for a living room? Well, as I mentioned in my nursery rug blog post, you need to decide on style and color. I’m typically a neutral person, but I wanted to go a bit more bold with this rug because of our black accent wall. Additionally, we have a white couch so I wanted to break that up from what we had in the living room before (a white vintage rug).
My friends over at Well Woven were to the rescue with two BEAUTIFUL rugs. I decided to do a layered look in the living room to make it extra cozy. In this room we have LVT flooring, so we wanted to be sure the rug was soft and padded. The layering allowed me to get a more padded feeling while also adding extra style.
The top rug is a gorgeous black vintage rug and the bottom rug is a blonde jute rug. They pair so well with one another and they also play off the colors in the room.
For the bottom rug, I went with the Boucle Hand-Woven Jute Rug in the 9’x12′ size so it would fill up the room yet leave space to still see the LVT flooring. Again, this is a more blonde jute rug that has more warm tones to it. It’s beautiful and SUCH high quality. The jute rug doesn’t shed at all which is amazing. No matter what style you have in your home, usually a jute rug will match that style.
The top rug is the gorgeous Minos Vintage Bohemian Oriental Floral Black Rug in the 8’x10′ and you guys, this rug is AMAZING!! One of my friends even said how she bet this put me out of my comfort zone and she was totally right! She loved it too, and AJ and I are so happy with it. Not only does it look great, it’s really the softest rug I’ve ever had or felt. Highly, highly recommend this rug.
Needless to say, I’m once again so incredibly happy with our Well Woven rugs. These living room rugs are perfect for our space and have really helped make the living room feel complete. The coziness and the style is what this room was needing. If y’all are looking for rugs to make your room cozy, I can’t recommend these two rugs enough!
