Hello to my readers! Some exciting life updates for today’s post. I’ve been a little MIA, but it’s all for good reason. First, we were spending time getting some things done around the house, including planning our bathroom remodel. Then shortly after us doing that, AJ popped the question!
It was a gorgeous Monday night out at a lake near us, and we were taking photos of AJ’s truck. While I have a love and passion for decor, AJ has a passion for his truck. So he washed it up and I thought we were just going for another ride around town to take some photos of his truck. We took some food with us and Abu, then sat out to watch the sunset. AJ then was taking a “photo” which really turned out to be a video. He then got down on one knee and proposed! I had a slight hunch based off the way he was asking, but I didn’t think there was any way it was happening. And then it did!
Now we are trying to lock down a venue that is an insanely gorgeous, historical barn, a place that is so dreamy to get married at. Hoping to hear back within the next day or so, and once we know that we can move forward on all the other details. People can’t believe how fast we’ve been planning things, but if you want to get married within a year you have to act fast. The beautiful wedding venues fill up fast, and so we wanted to get things locked down.
This is the most exciting news that I have announced on here, and I will be sure to keep you all updated on how things go, the styles we choose and so on. In the meantime, I will continue to give you updates on the home decor and our bathroom renovation! The time is here and we’ve started to buy things for our main floor bathroom, and I just cannot wait!
I wanted to show you all what I’ve changed with our front entryway, and I’ve just been trying to use decor I already have around the house. It’s sometimes hard to change things up without buying something new, but I’m really going to continue to try and just use what I have to change things up. I’ve been loving the sunflower look for summer, so I have continued to use my sunflowers throughout the house. I mostly always get some faux flowers in the bundles, and just wait until one of the craft stores has 40-50% off floral. I then cut off the stems from the bundle, and use those flowers in my centerpieces and vases.
Sometimes it’s easy to just go buy new decor, but with planning a wedding I’m going to be dedicating more time and money to that. Being able to use old decor can sometimes be hard to change it up, and if you are like me you get bored of your decor or the way it’s staged. I love getting to be creative, but now I’m going to work more on doing it on a budget. So here come the DIY’s, the hand-me-down items, and garage sales. It’s time to get creative!
What are your summer DIY’s that you have planned? Where do you find good items and how to you refinish them? I would love to hear your stories and more about your projects, so please go ahead and leave it in the comments!
